New Release v1.0.0: Zero-Prompt Windows Spooler with instant PDF duplex auto-detection is live.
Hardware & Network Defense Standards • Section 43A IT Act

Zero Retention Policy

Auto-Purge Mechanics & Air-Gapped Counter Defense Architecture

Air-Gap Hardware Protocol • Anti-Malware 5-Minute Strict TTL Shredding Protocol

Statutory Privacy & Cybersecurity Mandate

This Zero Retention Policy outlines the immutable technical and procedural safeguards deployed across QRPrint cloud relays and desktop spooler agents. In adherence to Section 43A of the Information Technology Act, 2000, the IT (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDPA), customer documents are never indexed, stored permanently, or exposed to unauthorized local workstation directories.

Core Security & Data Hygiene Pillars
Ephemeral TTL

Hard 5-minute inactivity purge cron continuously cycling in the cloud ingestion layer to eliminate unclaimed files.

USB Air-Gap

Transitions patrons to self-serve mobile uploads, fully physically isolating the shop counter PC from infected pendrives.

Cryptographic Hashes

Time-delimited HMAC-SHA256 tokens and nonces prevent URL enumeration, unauthorized scraping, and replay attacks.

1 Volatile In-Memory Spooling & Counter Desktop Hygiene

Traditional print shops, cyber cafes, and stationery centers routinely compromise user privacy by saving sensitive documents (such as resumes, tax returns, bank statements, and identity records) into unmanaged local folders such as C:\Users\...\Downloads or the Windows Desktop. These files frequently linger for months or years, creating immense exposure to data theft, accidental leaks, and unauthorized snooping.

Under QRPrint, patron document streams bypass public disk folders completely. When an order is processed, the document payload is streamed directly into an isolated, temporary spool buffer. The Windows PC Spooler Agent communicates straight to the operating system's native Win32 GDI / Print Spooler subsystem (via raw EMF / PostScript streams), rendering output directly to printer hardware memory without persisting files on the operator's computer.

2 Automated 5-Minute Purge & Cryptographic Unlinking Mechanics

Every document uploaded to our cloud ingestion relays is provisioned with an immutable Time-To-Live (TTL) timestamp managed by autonomous background shredder daemons:

  • Post-Print Immediate Shred: As soon as the desktop agent issues an authenticated ACK packet confirming the physical driver has accepted the print job, the server-side file pointer is immediately unlinked and its storage blocks zero-overwritten.
  • 5-Minute Inactivity Fail-Safe: If an uploaded document is abandoned, unpaid, or unprinted for five (5) consecutive minutes, the autonomous garbage-collection cron permanently purges the binary payload from server storage without human intervention.
  • Zero Metadata Payload Retention: While transaction records (e.g. order number, page count, timestamp, payment mode) are logged for accounting compliance, the raw binary contents and file names are expunged forever.

3 USB Hardware Air-Gap Defense (Section 43 & 66 IT Act)

Plugging physical USB flash drives, memory cards, and portable hard drives into retail computers is the primary propagation vector for autorun worms, keyboard loggers, Trojan horses, and ransomware across commercial printing centers in India.

By moving walk-in patrons entirely to touchless counter QR stand mobile workflows, the merchant’s billing and spooler workstation is physically air-gapped from untrusted external storage media. This architecture satisfies the reasonable security safeguards mandated under Section 43A of the Information Technology Act, 2000 and shields print businesses from liability under Section 66 (Computer-Related Offenses).

4 In-Transit Encryption & Ephemeral URL Security

All interactions between patron mobile devices, cloud ingestion relays, and the local desktop spooler client are secured using industry-grade TLS 1.3 cryptographic protocols with High Cipher suites. Document download links transmitted to the local agent are signed using HMAC-SHA256 with single-use nonces and expiration windows limited to 120 seconds. Any link replayed or accessed after expiry is automatically rejected by the relay.

5 Merchant Operator Obligations & Audit Protocols

Merchants who operate the QRPrint Windows agent contractually covenant to maintain the technical integrity of the spool buffer. Operators are strictly forbidden from intercepting, redirecting, or caching print streams into non-volatile storage. Any shop operator discovered extracting patron documents without explicit written consent is subject to immediate account termination, forfeiture of license, and legal reporting under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
